Another go at FAC?

[edit]

The original nominator Emqu seems to have gone inactive without word, but the article is essentially FA standard already, having been more than half way through the actual FAC process. Perhaps another go at FAC might be worth it—A. Parrot, I see you assisted the nominator quite a bit, any interest in nominating the article with me? Aza24 (talk) 06:04, 22 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]

I don't feel conversant enough with the source material to be a co-nominator; I wouldn't be able to respond knowledgeably to reviewers' questions. But I'd be happy to assist however I can. A. Parrot (talk) 06:33, 22 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]
@Aza24 Hi! Thanks for the interest. I do actually have time and I would like to re-nominate this. I stopped last time because of life events, though I'd also become a little frustrated by the edit suggestions, many of which seemed to be personal-preference style tweaks with no basis in house style. Anyway - I should have some more time now and would be happy to reopen noms myself this weekend. Emqu (talk) 23:55, 22 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Emqu, that is so wonderful to hear, the article is all yours. I'll keep an eye on the FAC incase any trouble arises. Best – Aza24 (talk) 00:02, 23 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Emqu It's a bummer that your work hasn't gotten what it deserves. I'll try to attend to some of the issues raised by editors. Hopefully you can come back when you have time, as I would be happy to do a source review and perhaps show some sources that I've found. Wretchskull (talk) 10:43, 4 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Capitol Relief Error (Shamash as Hammurabi)

[edit]

==== The relief in the US Capitol building, while intended to be of Hammurabi, is erroneously of Shamash, a fact first pointed out to me by my former Near-Eastern and Achaemenid History professor. The mistake is easy to make, as later steles have the King assume the seated, implicitly divine, position, but as this article correctly identifies Shamash as the seated figure, I feel it may be worth mentioning the mistake in the US Capitol relief. I have not been able to find a source arguing this from a cursory search, which is why I have not made the change myself, but the fact is fairly obvious on inspection. ==== Overgrown Lizard (talk) 00:55, 30 January 2025 (UTC)[reply]
